Ever since Isaiah Thomas’ last season in Sacramento I’ve loved this guy. He can ball. The Kings and Phoenix screwed up when they didn’t give this guy a chance and we all got a taste of that last season when he was a human afterburner for the Boston Celtics, propelling them to the Playoffs.
He is now ready to start his first full season with the C’s and he shouldn’t be lacking in confidence, especially when he gains praise from Celtics legend Nate ‘Tiny’ Archibald.
The Celtics guard introduced himself to Nate Archibald, said it was an honor, and Tiny held up his hand.
“You don’t have to introduce yourself, I know who you are,” he said.
Thinking back now, Thomas is still a little floored.
“That hit me. ‘Dang, you know who I am?’?” he said.
Archibald didn’t waste time with Thomas.
“He just said to continue being myself, to do what I’m doing, and if I win here, there’s no other feeling like winning in Boston,” Thomas said of Archibald’s advice.
I think we can all understand why Archibald would hail in Celtics green. The history, to add to it and have your own chapter in the championship stuffed book that is titled “The History of the Boston Celtics”, man that would be something.
But let’s not get ahead ourselves. These Celtics still have a way to go, experience is necessary and the C’s are lacking in that particular department. But as long as they stay legitimate and keep getting Playoff appearances, that waiting time will be cut down as the years go by.
