Frank Vogel said when Miami finished them off that LeBron is the MJ of this era. Why? Because like MJ, LeBron is hindering many players from getting a ring. The first victim was OKC. Sparking the “I’m tired of being second place” speech from KD. Then Indiana for the past three years and of course San Antonio.
But since the Miami-OKC Finals OKC haven’t been to the Finals since. The huge upset against Memphis and most recently San Antonio. It begs the question, is Scott Brooks the real problem?
During the Playoffs there’s been a little criticism about the lack of tactics Brooks has. Isolation plays nearly every time. It was magnified when watching San Antonio and their clinical offence… And then on the other side of the court Russell Westbrook gets a pick, passes to Durant and then he gets an isolation.
Riveting stuff…
In the past exploits to get the championship there was always that one excuse. Harden didn’t show up, Westbrook was injured. This season the main excuse was Serge Ibaka being injured. Well guess what? That was a factor. But it’s not the reason.
The constant in all them failed attempts was Scott Brooks. His lack of creativity astounds me. He’s lucky nobody has noticed till this point. How has nobody noticed? Because he has two of the most creative players in the game backing his generic plays up.
Am I calling him to be let go? Hell yes! Anybody that thinks Kendrick Perkins is positive to their team is crazy.
But it probably won’t happen. Especially if KD backs him up.
And it’s not just KD all in for Brooks. Russell Westbrook has the same sentiment.
If I was OKC I would do two things. Get rid of Perkins and ditch Brooks and bring in a coach that’s dealt with star power.
