Kobe Bryant and the Lakers are currently on a road trip. Next stop for the Lakers is vs the Celtics in Boston after a blowout loss to the Wizards. Instead of Kobe taking his teammates out for breakfast. Kobe decides to take out the opposing team superstar Rajon Rondo out for breakfast early this morning. It’s no secret Rondo will be a unrestricted free agent coming up next summer and Kobe is putting in the ground work now.
When Kobe was asked about his breakfast with Rondo his response was “We get along extremely well,” Bryant said. “We see the game in a similar fashion in terms of our aggressiveness and our mindset. It’s good to get together with him.”
Kobe also went on to say about the conservation with Rondo “I just never really understood how a guy that size could get 17, 20 rebounds,” Kobe said. “I still don’t really understand that. It’s unbelievable.”
When asked about well what did you and Rondo talk about during breakfast? Kobe said “We just talked about the game, talked about the league, some good old memories and stuff like that, different strategies and things they tried to do against us and things we tried to do against them. It was a basketball geek conversation” “Oh, and did we mention that the breakfast was delicious.”
Would the Kobe & Rajon duo work? I think so because Rondo is a elite passer and Kobe is an elite scorer. Those guys are a match made in heaven. Only issue I have is Rondo is not a good shooter. Rondo is known for his passing and defense (something the Lakers could use more of) while shooting 41% from the field. Kobe is looking great for a 36 year veteran coming off an career ending injury, but is shooting a career worse from the field at 39%, worse than Rondo. Everyone is saying Rajon Rondo is gonna get traded this year and if so where too? Los Angeles perhaps?
