The former Eagles pass rusher will be rejoining Colts general manager Ryan Grigson, who was with the Eagles in 2005 when Trent Cole was drafted. The 32 year old Cole will reportedly sign a deal worth $16 million over two years with $8 million guaranteed.
Cole’s resume includes 85.5 sacks and 19 forced fumbles in his ten seasons with Eagles. Although he hasn’t topped eight sacks since 2011, Cole can still pressure the quarterback. His experience playing in a 4-3 and 3-4 defenses gives him added value in Chuck Pagano’s defensive scheme.
