Over the last month, a couple of things have happened to Iman Shumpert. He made a cameo in a Kanye West music video, he released a new song and he also was arrested for suspicion of DUI. Did that last one catch you off guard? Don’t worry, it also caught everyone else by surprise.
Shumpert was apparently arrested on August 10th for suspicion of DUI following a traffic stop for a lane violation. Just about one month has passed and now news is coming out about Shump’s arrest. Oddly enough, the Cleveland Cavaliers were the first to report on this.
The Cavs released the following statement on the arrest in a press release.
Cavaliers guard Iman Shumpert was arrested by Fayette County (GA) Police outside Atlanta for suspicion of DUI following an August 10th traffic stop for a lane violation. The Cavaliers have discussed the situation with Iman and will monitor the progression of the pending case. A court date has not been set at this point, and neither Iman or the team will have any additional comments while the matter progresses through the legal process.
We’ll have more details on this arrest and any pending court decisions as more details become available.
UPDATE:
