Maryland native IDK is taking his talents up north to the state of Massachusetts for an exciting new opportunity. The rising artist has partnered with Harvard University to create the No Label Academy, a 10-day music business program aimed at helping students kickstart their careers.
“We belong in the places where few of us exist,” he said.
“I’m making sure the world sees that. Applications for my music business course catered to Black Indigenous People of Color at Harvard are open. Apply now. It takes five minutes.”
To put this program together, IDK will also seek counsel from Nike and Harvard University professor Brian K. Price. Price hot involved with the program “because education is key to launching and maintaining a successful enterprise.”
“Anyone aspiring to do music as a business must think like and excel as an entrepreneur. There must be a foundation of knowledge and how to apply that knowledge. Learning from experience is one way; learning from ‘the experienced’ is another,” Price said.
“I’m happy to support initiatives that help learners understand how to make wise decisions.”
The No Label Academy will run from August 21 through August 31 in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Applications are available now.
