Idina Menzel set the internet on fire following an interview where she said a follow-up to Frozen was “in the works…hopefully.”
On Monday, the Broadway star who voiced Elsa set the record straight.
When asked about the film before her performance from her Christmas album, Holiday Wishes, Menzel laughed and said:
“You know, I have no idea – I just assumed that because it’s so successful that what they’re up to!”
Back in February, Andrew Millstein, executive VP and GM of Walt Disney Animation Studios told THR that “there’s not a sequel [currently] on the drawing boards.”
Since it’s release, Frozen has earned over $1.27 billion worldwide and took home the Oscar for Best Animated Feature and Best Original Song for ‘Let It Go’.
