The first teaser video for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 has been revealed.
The teaser shows a first look at President Alma Coin, played by Julianne Moore and Plutarch Heavensbee, played by the late Phillip Seymour Hoffman.
In an interview last year, Catching Fire director Francis Lawrence said splitting the films into two parts will mean more of Suzanne Collin’s story will make it to the big screen, stating:
The good thing is by splitting it in two you actually will get more of the book in the movies because you have a little more time for each part.
There’s also room for some surprises and additions. The movies won’t be quite as long, they’ll be slightly shorter than Catching Fire.
Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Donald Sutherland, Seymour Hoffman, Stanley Tucci, Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks and Sam Claflin return to reprise their roles, while Natalie Dormer, Stef Dawson and Julianne Moore will be making their debut in the franchise.
Mockingjay Part 1 opens on November 21 of this year and Part 2 is scheduled to release November 20, 2015.
