Get your votes in early! The NBA All-Star voting for the All-Star Game in New York on February 15th is open starting today!
The rules in the past limited the list of players who could be voted in the All-Star game to 120, 60 from each conference.
This year though, you have free reign to vote in whoever you want.
Seriously, anyone. Check out the ways you can vote.
• There is the online ballot at NBA.com.
• You can vote for anyone on twitter, just in your tweet (or retweet) make sure to put the player’s first and last names, as well as the hashtag #NBABallot.
• You can vote on Facebook by just making a post on your personal account, again just make sure to include the player’s first and last names as well as the hashtag #NBABallot.
• Fans can vote on Instagram by posting an original photo, using #NBABallot and the player’s first and last name in the caption.
• Or you can just text in your vote. Simply text the player’s last name to 6-9-6-2-2 (“MYNBA”).
• Finally you can vote through the NBA Game Time app on your phone.
The fans now have full control over this. More than ever before. This may or may not be good for a few reason.
As always, there are players who are overlooked, like Kyle Lowry last year or Brook Lopez and Steph Curry in 2013 but now there are a lot of players the fans can vote in.
Can you imagine a campaign for Robert Sacre? Or maybe one for Joe Harris? What about Joey Dorsey?
Well if you want anyone in, just remember to use the hashtag, #NBABallot.
All-Star Weekend in the city that never sleeps may be very exciting. The Rising Stars Challenge is on Friday, Feb. 13 and the All-Star Saturday Night events, including the dunk contest and three point shootout, are on Saturday, Feb. 14. Both of those events will take place at Barclays Center in Brooklyn. The NBA All-Star Game will take place Sunday, Feb. 15 at Madison Square Garden.
