Houston Beats Portland 121-116 In OT; Portland Leads Series 2-1
The Houston Rockets made 12-of-31 three-point attempts after combining for just 11 total makes in the first two games. That, along with getting double-figure scoring from Chandler Parsons (15), Jeremy Lin (13), and Patrick Beverly (16), plus the unsung heroics of Troy Daniels playing in his first ever playoff game helped Houston save their season on Friday night.
Daniels made the go-ahead three-pointer on a kick-out from Jeremy Lin that would put the Rockets up by three with 11 seconds remaining in overtime. James Harden finished with 37 points, nine rebounds and six assists for the Rockets. Dwight Howard had 24 points and 14 rebounds.
Damian Lillard finished with 30 points, six rebounds and six assists for Portland, the first Trail Blazers player since Terry Porter to have that stat line in a playoff game. Nicolas Batum emerged for 26 points, which helped with the cooling off of LaMarcus Aldridge, who finished with 23 points and 10 rebounds.
Game 4 of this series will be on Sunday at 9:30 PM EST on TNT.
