
Rising Toronto rapper Houdini was reportedly shot and killed outside of a Toronto hotel on Tuesday afternoon. According to local news outlets, the shooting took place at roughly 4 p.m. near the intersection of King Street and Blue Jays Way. When authorities arrived, they found the Toronto artist suffering from gunshot wounds. Two other people had been hit as well. Shortly thereafter, the three victims were rushed to the hospital. At approximately 6:30 p.m., Houdini was pronounced dead.
“This was very brazen,” Toronto Police Chief Mark Saunders said.
Luckily, the fifteen year old boy and 27 year old woman who were also hit are reportedly expected to recover.
After learning of the artist’s death, Tory Lanez took to Instagram to mourn. “I’m trying and I can’t fight the tears from falling. I can’t even find the words for a speech right now,” he wrote. “RIP! Prayers to his side,” Meek Mill added.
Houdini was just 21 years old at the time of his death.
No suspects have been identified at this time.
