
Coming off a 10 game losing streak and some trade rumors, all of a sudden the Charlotte Hornets are possibly beginning a nice little winning streak. They fought off a late fourth quarter rally and defeated the Boston Celtics 96-87 for their second straight victory.
Al Jefferson lead the Hornets on this night with 23 points and 14 rebounds. Kemba Walker added 18 points with 7 assists and Lance Stephenson had 13 points with 4 rebounds and 4 assists for the Hornets.
It was a sibling rivalry though as the starting centers for both teams, Tyler Zeller for the Celtics and Cody Zeller for the Hornets, faced off against each other with their parents in attendance. The parents didn’t choose one side though and wore neutral orange on the night.
Celtics were led by Marcus Thornton’s 16 points, 13 of which were fourth-quarter points. Rajon Rondo had a triple-double with 12 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists for the Celtics. Jeff Green and Thornton led Boston with 16 points each, with green grabbing 4 rebounds as well and Brandon Bass scored 10 off the bench.
Tyler Zeller outscored his brother Cody on the night. Tyler finished with 13 points and 8 rebounds and his brother Cody had 9 points.
Charlotte Hornets are 6-15. Boston Celtics are 7-13.
