Weber is a 6-2 guard known mostly for his defensive ability but his all-around game with the Sioux Falls Skyforce made him one of the more intriguing prospects in the D-League. He found success with the Warriors but was not brought back after the team chose to sign Jose Calderon and subsequently Matt Barnes in the wake of the Kevin Durant injury.
In four games with the Hornets, Weber has averaged four points, 1.5 rebounds, and one assist per game in 8.5 minutes. He has served as a crucial cog in the absence of Ramon Sessions off the bench. His performance has been strong enough, however, that Charlotte has chosen to keep him even as Sessions approaches a return to the court.
the Hornets clearly value Weber’s defense, adding him to a team that already ranked eighth in the league in points allowed per 100 possessions. He is the second player to receive a long-term deal from Charlotte after 10-day contracts, joining teammate Johnny O’Bryant.
