Due to the lack of offers that the Charlotte Hornets have received for guard Lance Stephenson, the team decided to take him off the trading block.
Coming off a playoff apperance last season, Charlotte hasn’t lived up to the hype they had coming into the year. At 6-19 and slipping down the Eastern Conference standings, Michael Jordan and company have been activly shopping their prize free agent aqusition.
While rumors of Stephenson possibly being traded to the Heat, Nets, or possibly going back to the Pacers, no offers were appealing to the Hornets.
According to Chris Broussard, Stephenson’s free-wheeling style of play and often negative body language has hurt the team chemistry that made Charlotte one of the surprises of the Eastern Conference a season ago.
Stephenson is in the first year of a 3 year/$27 million contarct he signed in the offseason..
