The best part of the video above is that the announcers don’t even acknowledge the flop at all. It happens and they just are quiet, then talk about the game.
What may be the flop of the year, Charlotte Hornets young guard P.J. Hairston may have to pay for this ridiculous move he did in the recent Hornets game against the San Antonio Spurs.
Charlotte Hornets forward P.J. Hairston has been fined $5,000 by the NBA for violating the league’s anti-flopping rules for the second time this season. The NBA announced the fine on Thursday.
Hairston’s horrible flop happened with 11:04 remaining in the fourth quarter of Charlotte’s “>98-93 loss to the San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday. Hairston tried to hedge off the pick and roll and connected with Spurs 180 pound guard Tony Parker at the top of the key. The 230 pound Hairston fell sideways, did a little ballerina spin and slid across the floor to fittingly land at the feet of San Antonio Spurs coach Gregg Popovich on the sideline.
Hopefully after all the attention Hairston is getting for his flops, he’ll stop being so dramatic and play some tough defense. His dumb move after-all didn’t work and left his teammate forced to guard Parker, which left Danny Green wide open for a 3.
