The Charlotte Hornets Guard, Mo Williams, and the Oklahoma City Thunder Guard, Russell Westbrook, have been named players of the week for their respective conferences. Mo Williams averaged 19.5 points, 10.8 assists, and just under 2.5 three pointers a game. Russell Westbrook averaged 40.7 points, 11.3 rebounds and 11.3 assists with 3 steals.
Mo Williams has been amazing for the Charlotte Hornets while Kemba Walker has been injured. Before Kemba’s injury, Charlotte was on it’s way to the playoffs, and concerns arose with his absence, but Mo Williams has definitely filled his void. The Hornets have won 5 in a row and sit pretty comfortably in the 7th spot in the East.
Russell Westbrook is a monster in his own. Oscar Robertson is the only other player to do that. With his performance he has put himself at the TOP of the MVP ladder and he’s forcing people to look his way. This historic run of triple-doubles, and basically leading the Thunder team by himself, makes him deserve MVP.
