If you haven’t heard, Charlotte did not take time to ‘acclimate’ themselves with Lance Stephenson, instead they shipped him off to sunny LA to play with the Clippers in exchange for Spencer Hawes and a Matt Barnes who they’ll probably waive.
If Lance Stephenson plays like ‘Indiana Lance’, the Hornets definitely lost this trade. As a matter of fact they already lost this trade on paper, but then again ‘on paper’ is not reality now. But that hasn’t stopped Hornets GM Rich Cho to start throwing shade at ‘Born Ready’.
“Sometimes when you make a trade or a signing it just doesn’t work out well,” Hornets general manager Rich Cho said in a conference call. “He never fit in great.
“Sometimes you don’t know how (a player) will fit until he plays for your team.”
Stephenson went from a starter to a reserve to briefly a player out of the rotation entirely. Cho said he did not become a locker-room distraction despite his frustration with the situation.
“I thought Lance handled it really well,” Cho said. “I thought it was a shock to his system that he was not playing so much. But he handled it very professionally.”
Alright I’m sort of stirring the pot when it comes to the term ‘throwing shade’ but it was all facts, Stephenson just couldn’t fit into what Charlotte were doing and when nobody knows why, you have no choice but to send him on his way and get players that can fit in.
