Hollywood legend Mickey Rooney has passed away at the age of 93.
Best known for his role as Andy Hardy in the MGM film series, A Family Affair between 1937 and 1946, Rooney died of natural causes after a long battle of poor health, according to TMZ.
Rooney’s show-business career spanned over 80 years, with him in over 200 films.
He began his role as Andy Hardy in A Family Affair at the age of 17, before starring in 13 more movies in the series and a final installment in 1958.
He also gained recognition for his roles in Boys Town and The Black Stallion, as well as winning two honorary Oscars in 1938 and 1982.
Rooney was often referred to as “the greatest actor of them all.”
