After 15 months of deep hardship, it appears that live music is returning to the west coast in a major way. The Hollywood Bowl has announced that H.E.R, Cynthia Erivo, Christina Aguilera, James Blake and Kool & The Gang will play at the Hollywood Bowl this summer. Also, stars like Kamasi Washington, Earl Sweatshirt, Brittany Howard and Jamila Woods will perform at the historic venue as well. In total, the Hollywood Bowl is expected to host as many as 50 performances between July 3 and September 28.
As the venue opens, it will be expected to follow strict COVID-19 protocols. During its first month, the venue will only allow approximately 11,000 people. Adding on the health guidelines, the venue will have separate sections available for vaccinated and non-vaccinated ticketholders.
“[We] will continue to receive public health guidelines from Los Angeles County,” the Hollywood Bowl stated.
“Two sections [will be] reserved for non-vaccinated audience members with proof of a negative COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours prior to attendance. Mask wearing will be required for all attendees.”
Health guidelines could ease up after July as officials re-examine the COVID-19 pandemic. For now, patrons can check out the full lineup below or visit the venue’s website.
