No LeBron James, Paul George, Carmelo Anthony, Chris Paul, Kobe Bryant, John Wall or Stephen Curry but there still was a game to be played to cap off the week that was during the 2015 Team USA mini-camp in preparation for the 2016 Olympics in Rio.
The 2015 USA Basketball Showcase, featuring the Blue vs. White Intra-Squad Scrimmage, took place on Thursday, August 13 at the Thomas & Mack Center at UNLV. While some of the biggest stars weren’t playing in the game, the contest still featured some well-known names but not a lot of defense.
Andre Drummond took things seriously on the night as he had 27 points and 16 rebounds for team Blue. DeMarcus Cousins made some plays on his birthday, while dropping 24 points and grabbing 11 boards for Team While and his teammates, Victor Oladipo, who scored 25 on the night, and Blake Griffin, who put up 15 points, made some big plays.
Coach K reflected on the week that was following the game.
