The Miami Heat’s four-day break has come at the right time for forward Shane Battier who confirmed that he has a sprained knee, suffered in the win against Cleveland on Saturday. The Heat are listing Battier as day-to-day and he will be re-evaluated prior to Thursday’s game against San Antonio.
Teammate LeBron James says Battier will likely miss a couple of games, and Battier says the injury, which occurred when he landed awkwardly after a teammate fell into him, could have been a lot worse considering.
“I’m sore, but overall, I feel pretty good,” Battier said after Monday’s practice at AmericanAirlines Arena. “I think it could have been a lot worse than it was. I’ve sprained an MCL before, so I knew what it felt like. I knew exactly what it was. It wasn’t as severe this time.”
