Dwyane Wade’s departure from Miami was not a graceful one. After 13 years with the Heat, Wade left to go to Chicago with some parting shots at Pat Riley and the Heat organization.
Nevertheless, Wade’s time with the Heat was a successful one, spanning three championships for the franchise. Despite his departure, the shooting guard is well-loved in Miami for the success he brought to the team.
That love was in full light on Thursday as Wade returned to Miami for the first time with his new team. Number three was given a long tribute video prior to the game, as the crowd welcomed him back with raucous applause.

It was a fitting return for Wade in the arena where he had so many great moments. Wade also received some love from Riley in a segment shown on TNT:

The rest of the game went Wade’s way. He got his first points against Miami in classic Dwyane Wade fashion:

Wade didn’t have a great game, scoring only 13 points on 5-17 shooting, but the Bulls were able to edge out a 98-95 win on the road.
