Last week, there was a report that the Miami Heat were in discussions with the Memphis Grizzlies about a deal which would see Mario Chalmers get sent to the Grizzlies, a team in need of some new perimeter shooting.
It now appears that both sides have pulled the trigger on a deal and Rio will be leaving South Beach.

This is the first trade of the 2015-16 season and it’s a pretty uneventful one. Chalmers will be going to the Grizzlies to somehow help their perimeter shooting. In 20 minutes per game this season, Mario Chalmers is shooting 9 percent from 3-point range, so there’s not much going on there this season.
Here’s his shot charts from this very early season in comparison to last season.

Will Chalmers be able to change things in Memphis? Probably not and neither will James Ennis. The same could be said about Udrih and Stokes heading to the Heat. Both players who not make a ton of change in their future success. For Miami, this move helps them save $6 million in luxury tax payments. It also allows them to have a familiar face for their starting point guard to work with since Goran Dragic and Udrih have both been members of the Slovenian national team for years.
