Heat Beat Wizards 107-95 In Season Opener
The Miami Heat won their fifth consecutive season opening game against the Washington Wizards with a 107-95 win on Wednesday night. Chris Bosh led Miami with 26 points and 15 rebounds. Norris Cole had a career-high 23 points and Dwayne Wade scored 12 of his 21 points in the fourth quarter.
Washington was without starters Bradley Beal (wrist) and NeNe (knee). Miami was without Danny Granger and Josh McRoberts. Marcin Gortat and Drew Gooden scored 18 points each for the Wizards. John Wall finished with 16 points and 11 assists.
Neither team was at full strength tonight, making it even more impressive that Miami was still able to post 100+ points. They scored 35 points in the 4th quarter. Their depth is showing to be a potentially vital advantage as Mario Chalmers, Chris Andersen, James Ennis, and Shabazz Napier all brought their own contributions off the bench. The Miami Heat bench produced 22 points.
