Celebrating the release of their Stockton On My Mind documentary, HBO has partnered with Angela Rye, Van Lathan and Killer Mike for their digital “Action Series.” The series will provide an educational experience that will motivation community figures, activists and active citizens. Along the way, they’ll touch on topics such as education, voter registration and much more.
“HBO is committed to great storytelling and inspiring activism,” HBO executive Jackie Gagne said.
“The themes of Michael Tubbs’ extraordinary documentary touch upon experiences that are all too real and disproportionately affect many people, especially black and brown communities, who suffer the most when it comes to voter suppression. We created the digital Action Series in order to organically and respectfully engage audiences in discussions around the topics of social justice and political activism in their respective communities,” she added.
The “Action Series” will begin on July 30, 2020 and run through August 8, 2020.
