The Atlanta Hawks have been one of the hottest teams that people aren’t talking about, downing the Mavericks in Dallas Monday night 105-102.
With Jeff Teague sitting how for a third-straight game, Dennis Schroeder got the start and shined. The 22 year-old finished with a season-high 22 points, and got some help from his teammates as the entire Hawks starting five scored in double figures.
It looked early that the Hawks would run away with the game, leading by as much as 16 in the first half, and by 19 going into the fourth quarter. The Mavs would battle back and got the score to eight with under four minutes to play.
Charlie Villanueva would hit back-to-back three pointers to make the score 102-97 with 28.4 to play, but could not complete the comeback.
