The top feel-good story in the NBA this season is undoubtedly the play of a once-forgotten Miami Heat big man, Hassan Whiteside.
Whiteside’s story has been told over and over again but he continues to play at an elevated level against opponents on a big stage, especially opponents that passed up on him.
Last night against the Lakers, Whiteside didn’t forget what Los Angeles did to him.
Following from Jason Leiser of the Palm Beach Post.
Hassan Whiteside: "I worked out for the Lakers. I thought they could use me. I guess not."

After being drafted in 2010, he played in only 19 games in two seasons and has spent the last two years in the NBA Developmental League. Whiteside has exploded on the scene since being called up by the Heat, averaging nearly a double-double and more than 2 blocks in 32 games.
Whiteside finished the game with 18 points and a career-high 25 rebounds with 4 blocks to help the Heat defeat the Lakers. Whiteside continues to show why he is one of the top candidate for the Most Improved Player award while he takes no prisoners in his attempt to prove everyone wrong, every single person that passed up on him.
Lakers could definitely use him, especially at the cheap price of his contract. He could’ve been a piece to pair up with Kobe Bryant to sure up the future of the Lakers beyond Bryant.
