The Defensive Player of the Year award was awarded to San Antonio Spurs forward Kawhi Leonard today, with Golden State Warriors’ Draymond Green the runner-up, and Miami Heat Center Hassan Whiteside coming in third. Whiteside, who led the league in blocks with an incredible 3.7 per game, was not happy with his third-place result, as evidenced by a tirade of complaints tweeted out by Jason Lieser of the Palm Beach Post:
Whiteside on DPOY: "I was third place, I guess… I'm used to not getting credit for what I do."

Hassan Whiteside on DPOY: "I'm used to being overlooked. I've been overlooked my whole life."

Hassan Whiteside: "I put up stats you guys ain't never seen… Ain't got nothing to say about that."

Asked if he's disappointed about DPOY, Hassan Whiteside says, "We're in the playoffs, we're the 3-seed and we're up 1-0."

Whiteside's up for Most Improved, too– “I won’t win that. I won’t win nothing. I’ll probably never win any of that. I don’t win awards.”

Whiteside happy to be in the mix (top-3) for DPOY? "I guess I'm thankful. I'm happy I'm there, I guess. I don't know. I'm not really."

The amount of salt here is ridiculous. Draymond Green and Kawhi Leonard both had phenomenal seasons, and were, in the opinion of most, more deserving of this award than Whiteside.
