Over the summer, Miami Heat big man Hassan Whiteside and Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green got into a small subtweet battle on twitter. Well, that’s what we all assumed when this exchange went down in August of 2015.
Now, fast forward a few months later and the two teams are facing off and it will mark the first time Whiteside and Green square off since this exchange. The two players claim to not know each other, they never met and they never even mentioned each other on twitter but the two players have a heated rivalry going into their matchup tonight.

When asked a fairly benign and open question about the Warriors’ style of play, he answered, “It’s gonna be really interesting. I hope they don’t play (7-footer Andrew) Bogut as much. I would love to get after some of their smaller guys.”
Naturally, that led to Whiteside being asked if the Green beef is still on his mind.
“He basically just said he’s got more money than me and that I played in the D-League,” Whiteside said. “It’s gonna be interesting.”
Why do you guys dislike each other?
“I wasn’t even talking to him, but fans started at-ing him and telling him Hassan’s talking about you,” Whiteside said. “He was like, ‘Can you score?’ and I said, ‘Guard me and you’ll find out.’ I don’t know what money’s got to do with it, but OK.”
But you don’t actually know each other in the real world?
“No, I’ve never talked to him,” Whiteside said.

Whiteside and Green are undoubtedly going to matchup at least once tonight and the whole world will be watching to see what happens between the two outspoken big men.
