It’s Tuesday, November 6th. Have you voted? Throughout the entire day, dozens of public figures have encouraged fans and supporters alike to get out and vote. Dave Chappelle, Young M.A., Travis Scott, Demi Lovato, Ed Harris and many more have posted across social networks encouraging those watching to get out and vote. Specifically, the state of Texas has seen a number of public figures come out and encourage citizens to vote. Travis Scott, LeBron James, Beyonce and many more have gone as far as to publicly support candidates running for office in the state. With all of the attention that has been brought to elections in the state of Texas, it is no surprise that so many Texans have showed up to the polls.
Harris County in Texas has seen a ton of voters show up to the polls. As a result, a judge in Harris County has ordered nine polling locations to stay open later to accommodate long lines at several polling locations. Polls in the county will stay open until 8 p.m. at the specified locations.
Texas is not alone in extending voting hours. A judge from Monroe Country in Indiana extended voting hours to accommodate long lines.
