The Detroit Pistons have re-signed restricted free agent wing Hamidou Diallo on a two-year deal worth $10.4 million. Diallo has had some bright moments in the league but hasn’t quite found his fit on a roster. The Pistons are still attempting to figure out what they want their rotation to be and the athletic wing could be a part of that. At the very least he will be an experienced wing that can come off the bench and help the younger players on the roster. Diallo should be a main player in next year’s rotation.

Diallo has always been a potential-filled player full of athletic ability. Last year was his first season with the Pistons after leaving the Oklahoma City Thunder. He spent time on both rosters and in that time he averaged 11.6 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 1.9 assists per game. He also shot 47.7 percent from the field and 34.1 percent from the three-point line. All of those numbers were career highs for Diallo. With just the Pistons he averaged 11.2 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 1.2 assists per game. With the Pistons he also shot 46.8 percent from the field and 39.0 percent from the three-point line.

Diallo seems to fit in well on the Pistons’ roster and could be a key factor in wins this season. There are several players that will have growing pains this year and Diallo could be a consistent player on the roster. This is a solid signing that can help bring stability to the roster for the upcoming season.
