Ngata, 32, is on the decline as he isn’t the dominant defender he use to be. Nevertheless he is still a great run stuffer who forces the opposition to double team him. After battling a number of injuries in 2015 he finished the season with 25 quarterback hurries.
The big man from Oregon was acquired from the Ravens last season for a 4th and 5th round pick. After giving up draft picks to get him last season, he became a priority to keep this following season. The Lions have also added former Bengals wide receiver Marvin Jones in free agency. The team has some cap space to work with following the retirement of Calvin Johnson.
The Terms of the Agreement have not been announced yet.
