GRAMMY-nominated singer Halle Bailey has reportedly secured sole custody of her 16-month-old son Halo Saint. Bailey has also reportedly secured a temporary restraining order barring the Halo Saint’s father, Darryl Dwayne “DDG” Granberry Jr., from coming within 100 yards of her and their son. The order is expected to run through June 4, 2025, when legal representatives of both parties appear at a court hearing.
Bailey gave birth to Halo Saint in December before she and DDG publicly split approximately 10 months later. In March 2025, DDG released a song called “Don’t Take My Son.” Rapping over a sample of “Get Me Home” by Foxy Brown, the Michigan native opened about his ability to see Halo Saint.
“Don’t take my son [because] he is all [I’ve] got,” he raps. “I’m just having fun. I don’t love these thoughts. You tell me that you [are] going to move on, but I know you [are] not. [You’re] trying to make me pay to see my son. That’s going to make me hot. That’s going to make me pissed. [That’s] going to make me sick.”
On Tuesday, May 13, 2025, court documents reportedly filed in Los Angeles County claim DDG verbally and physically abused Bailey. In January, court documents allege Bailey was settling Halo Saint into his car seat inside DDG’s car. As she buckled him into the car seat, DDG allegedly shouted, “Get out of my car, b—h!” From there, court documents claim DDG became physically violent with Bailey, pulling her hair, slamming her face on the steering wheel, and chipping her tooth. Court documents also outline other alleged abusive acts, such as entering Bailey’s home uninvited, taking her phone, and destroying her property.
