Decaydance/Fueled By Ramen recording group Gym Class Heroes will take Indianapolis by storm with two back-to-back live televised performances to celebrate the biggest week in football. The alternative/hip-hop band is scheduled to perform tonight on VH1’s Pepsi Super Bowl Fan Jam and tomorrow morning on NBC’s Today (check local listings).
“Ass Back Home” featuring Neon Hitch – Gym Class Heroes’ second single from their latest release “The Papercut Chronicles II” is quickly shaping up to be another smash, climbing into the top 15 at CHR/Top 40 radio and the top 20 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The song made its premiere on network television with a live performance on NBC’s Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. The companion video for “Ass Back Home” has been added across all MTV platforms, as well as Fuse and VH1. The video is streaming now at Fueled By Ramen’s official YouTube channel (www.youtube.com/user/
In other news, the band’s most recent #1 hit “Stereo Hearts (featuring Adam Levine)” just surpassed the 3 million mark in sales and will be performed on a special Valentine’s Day episode of Fox’s hit series Glee. One of the biggest songs of 2011, “Stereo Hearts” held the top spot on the CHR/Top 40 chart for 3 weeks and went top 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Last November, GCH frontman Travie McCoy teamed up with Adam Levine and Maroon 5 for a special performance of “Stereo Hearts” on NBC’s Saturday Night Live. Gym Class Heroes then made a series of high profile television appearances, performing the song on NBC’s The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, ABC’s 2011 American Music Awards, and nationally syndicated Ellen DeGeneres Show to celebrate the release of “THE PAPERCUT CHRONICLES II.” To close the year, the band performed on ABC’s Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest.
As if that weren’t enough, the band, who just returned to the U.S. following a European tour, will co-headline the Snowstorm Music Tour with T-Pain, kicking off February 9 in Springfield, IL.
Gym Class Heroes catapulted to international stardom in 2007 with their first #1 hit “Cupid’s Chokehold/Breakfast In America,” which set the record for holding the top spot on the CHR/Top 40 radio charts for the most consecutive weeks by a band and helped earn them the “Best New Artist” award at the MTV Video Awards that same year. Gym Class Heroes frontman Travie McCoy was responsible for one of the biggest songs of 2010 with his smash solo single “Billionaire” featuring Bruno Mars. This year, Gym Class Heroes scored their second #1 hit with “Stereo Hearts” featuring Adam Levine, the lead single from their fourth Decaydance/Fueled By Ramen release, “The Papercut Chronicles II.” Dynamic live performers with a genre-defying sound, Gym Class Heroes has toured with rapper Lil Wayne and hip-hop/neo-soul band The Roots, and also headlined the Vans Warped Tour as well as cross-country and international tours of their own. Collectively, Travie and Gym Class Heroes have sold over 2 million albums worldwide and over 8 million digital singles.
