Lily Gladstone, Danai Gurira, and Kenneth Branagh are reportedly the latest additions to Michael B. Jordan and Amazon MGM’s production of The Thomas Crown Affair. Production is set to begin this week in London, with a projected release date of March 5, 2027.
Details regarding Branagh and Gladstone’s roles have not been made public. However, Gurira is expected to play Jordan’s “confidante.”
This is the third major production of The Thomas Crown Affair. The original, released in 1968, starred Steve McQueen and Faye Dunaway, and the 1999 remake starred Pierce Brosnan and Rene Russo. Both films followed the story of a wealthy, charismatic figure who orchestrates jewel heists, but runs into challenges when a cunning, seductive investigator begins to catch on to his game.
The Thomas Crown Affair is one of four franchises to which Jordan is attached. Not only is he leading the latest iteration of The Thomas Crown Affair, but he’s also connected to I Am Legend II, a fourth Creed movie, and a film adaptation of Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six. Also, he’s long been tied to Ryan Coogler’s Wrong Answer, a film chronicling the 2006 standardized test cheating scandal in Atlanta public schools.
