Three time Pro Bowl Guard Mike Iupati will sign with the Arizona Cardinals. The 27 year old power guard from Idaho will be leaving the 49ners to join the rival Cardinals. ESPN’s Adam Schefter got confirmation from Iupati on his departure from San Francisco.
49ers free-agent G Mike Iupati has told people he plans to sign with the Arizona Cardinals, per sources. Iupati vs. SF DT Darnell Dockett.

This move really bolsters the Arizona offensive line. After adding Jared Velheer last season, the team hope Iupati can improve the team from the inside. The deal should fall in the range of what Orlando Franklin received from San Diego. If Jonathan Cooper can ever stay healthy, this team could have a dangerous front. The red birds may not be done adding talent according to Rand Getlin of Yahoo Sports.

It is clear that Arizona is attempting to re-bolster the offense, especially after a embarrassing showing in the playoff defeat in Carolina. An Adrian Peterson signing could be the perfect one, two punch with Andre Ellington being a change of pace.
The 49ners on the other hand may be in serious trouble. They have already lost Justin Smith and Patrick Willis to Retirement. Now the team will be faced with free agent departures of Michael Crabtree and Frank Gore. The good news for 9ner fans is the team is currently front runners for deep threat Torrey Smith.
