The San Antonio Spurs are feeling really nice right now. They locked in their replacement for Tim Duncan in LaMarcus Aldridge and now they have a future behind, Aldridge, Parker and Leonard. With that being said, Gregg Popovich will coach through his 5-year contract with the Spurs.
According to Marc Stein of ESPN:
With a secure future of winning for the Spurs, Gregg Popovich’s winning record won’t be affected, so that’s probably why he will continue to coach. The Spurs instantly become title favorites in what seems to have 4 All-Star worthy players in their starting lineup. Is it too soon to predict a Spurs vs. Cavaliers NBA Finals? Stephen Curry might have something to say about that.
