Orlando Magic forward Aaron Gordon suffered a concussion in the team’s 103-89 loss to the Denver Nuggets on Friday night, the team announced shortly after the game.
Gordon sustained the injury after a direct collision to the shoulder of Nuggets guard Gary Harris and did not return to the contest.

Aaron Gordon's concussion is thought to be a mild concussion, a team official said. Still, like all NBA players, Gordon must pass a league-mandated protocol in which he passes a series of progressively more strenuous tests. He must be symptom-free to return to game action.

Gordon, 22, has had a career season so far with the Magic. He’s averaged a career-high 18.5 points and 8.1 rebounds per game, while also shooting 40 percent from 3-point territory.
Gordon will not play in the Magic’s Saturday night contest against the Atlanta Hawks and will be closely monitored in the coming days. The Magic will call up Adreian Payne in his absence, the team said on Saturday.
This is the second time in his professional career that Gordon has sustained a concussion, with his first coming at the end of the 2015-16 season. He missed the team’s next three games due to the injury, but made a full recovery and returned a short time later.
Gordon is in his fourth NBA season with the Magic, having being drafted by the club with the fourth overall pick in the 2014 NBA Draft.
