The Heat’s playoff chances seem to be very slim these days after being in the finals for the past four seasons when they had LeBron James.
Trying to make a push into the playoffs, the Heat traded for Goran Dragic at the trade deadline. Dragic, who was not happy on the Suns, can become a free agent this summer if he chooses to opt out of his contract.

I guess that means Dragic will most likely opt out, considering he controls his free agent fate. Miami would like Dragic to stay around, considering the team gave up two future first round picks to acquire him.
To make sure he doesn’t go anywhere, the Heat will most certainly need to give the point guard a max deal, along with Chris Bosh’s max deal already on the books.
Hassan Whiteside will also be a free agent in 2016, and if he continues to play the way he has been recently, he will attract many suitors and will most likely require a pretty hefty salary. Combine that with a max deal for Dragic, that’s a lot of money tied into three players, a “big three” that comes nowhere close to the Lebron, Wade, and Bosh “big three.”
Goran Dragic “hopes” and “wishes” to stay in Miami? This offseason we’ll see how “true” his words are.
