
On Wednesday afternoon the Miami Heat announced that Goran Dragic had surgery to clean up his right knee. The surgery was performed by the team physician Dr. Harlan Selesnick at the Miami Orthopedics & Sports Medicine Institute. The Slovenian guard is expected to miss two months and with hopes of returning by the NBA all-star break.

Later in the day, Heat coach Erik Spoelstra talked to the media. He said that Dragic was getting treatment for his knee issues but they weren’t responding as Dragic hoped. He also said that the team is relieved that they found a solution and confirmed that Dragic will be back this season.
Coach Spo on Dragi?: “Goran is as dedicated as anybody. He was getting treatment around the clock and it just wasn’t responding the way he wanted to.”

Earlier in the season, Dragic had his knee drained to alleviate the pain on his knee. At first, it had a positive outcome and played a couple of games before he was out again with knee problems. Dragic has played in fourteen games this season and is averaging 15.3 points, 4.9 assists and 3.1 rebounds in 29 minutes per game.
