Goran Dragic has had an average year. Especially compared to the breakout season last year.
Unfortunately for him. This is his contract year. Which means that next offseason, he’s on the market. And at this moment in time. Dragic isn’t going to get many offers from title contenders.
But according to the New York Daily News, Dragic is taking a liking to New York. Even though they’re currently lost in the Bermuda Triangle.
Dragic, a lefty point guard, called the Knicks a “possibility” for his services in July when he plans to opt out of his contract and test free agency.
And his interest in the Knicks rests in large part because of the presence of Jackson, telling the Daily News he “would love” to play for him.
“Oh yeah, definitely,” said Dragic, who earned All-NBA third-team honors last season. “You know Phil, he was a great coach. He won so many titles and he was coaching so many great players that of course it’s interesting and I would love working with him. Because probably he’s making all the moves — I’m not sure — but he knows what the team needs and what direction the team needs to go. In the past probably, he makes some decisions, who the Lakers bring in and the Chicago Bulls and (he)did an amazing job.”
You all know that Phil Jackson isn’t the Head Coach? Alright just checking.
You’re not exactly playing FOR him, you’re playing UNDER him. There’s a difference. But if you want to play for the Knicks, I’ve got no qualms with that. You’re getting muscled out of Phoenix anyways.
