ABC’s Good Morning America has announced that it will partner with the nation’s largest hunger relief organization, Feeding America, to share food resources with viewers nationwide during the pandemic. The partnership is being billed as the Day of Hope. It will take place on Thursday, April 9, 2020.
“Good Morning America will kick-off the network-wide initiative with segments highlighting food banks and food pantry personnel working hard to get food in the hands of people who need it, along with available resources for those struggling to feed themselves and their families,” ABC writes.

“Throughout the day, viewers across ABC programs including the syndicated Live with Kelly and Ryan, Tamron Hall, The View, Pandemic, World News Tonight, Nightline, ABC News Live, ABC local affiliates and Owned Television Stations and ABCNews.com, will be directed to FeedingAmerica.org/FeedTheLove,” the network adds.
This news comes shortly after the passing of Good Morning America staffer Tony Greer. The longtime camera operator passed away after testing positive for COVID-19 in March. On Wednesday, Michael Strahan, George Stephanopoulos and Robin Roberts paid tribute to Greer. He leaves behind siblings, nieces, nephews, a mother and a longtime girlfriend.
