All roads lead to an epic war in the first trailer for the third season of MGM+’s Godfather of Harlem. Following a head-turning end to season three, Bumpy Johnson, played by Forest Whitaker, finds himself looking to maintain control of Harlem as he deals with new enemies.
“Season Three will find Bumpy Johnson continuing to battle for control of Harlem, with other aspirants to the throne, namely the Cuban Mafia from neighboring Spanish Harlem. Taking on the Cuban mob will put Bumpy, his loved ones, and his community in the crosshairs of not only the rival Italians, but ruthless Latin assassins and, ultimately, the CIA. Godfather of Harlem is a collision of the criminal underworld and the civil rights movement during one of the most tumultuous times in American history,” the season’s description reads.
This season, Whitaker will be joined by a number of the show’s most prominent stars Vincent D’Onofrio, Antoinette Crowe-Legacy, Ilfenesh Hadera, Giancarlo Esposito, Lucy Fry and Whoopi Goldberg. In season three, Michael Raymond-James will step in as Joe Colombo while Jason Alan Carvell plays the role of Malcolm X.
