San Antonio Spurs added another ring to their collection by defeating the Miami Heat in the 2014 finals, but according to a press release from the Spurs, the fans will be receveing rings that are replicas of the ones that the players will be receiving.
The commemorative NBA Championship rings feature the iconic Spur logo on the front and the team’s 2013-14 regular and post-season records above the NBA logo on the left panel. The opposite panel is etched with a replica of the Larry O’Brien trophy with five studs, representing each of the Spurs’ five championships.
In under two weeks the Spurs will be raising their championship banner against same state rival, the Dallas Mavericks. Also the team that gave the Spurs their toughest competition in the 2014 playoffs.
The rings wont include the diamonds and all the bling but it is a step-up from just a t-shirt or a poster of the champions. An actual ring and if I was a Spurs fan i would be first in line to receive one of these bad boys. The rings are sponsored by HEB, which is a sponsor in San Antonio.
Props to the Spurs for this one, once again setting the tone for all NBA teams in the future and their giveaways after winning an NBA Championship.
