Before the preseason there was news of Glen Davis finally losing weight which was years overdue. And he’s looked good. You can see the cutting has been positive. But it’s still the NBA and not everything goes your way, as ESPN.com are reporting that Davis will be out for two weeks with a groin strain.
Davis suffered the injury while setting a screen during practice. He is expected to miss two weeks.
“We’re going to take our time with that,” Clippers coach Doc Rivers said. “I don’t give a time frame, but no time soon … I think it will be close [to the season opener]. I think he’ll be back playing by then, but I don’t know if he’ll be in basketball shape to play.“
From what Rivers has said. I would say there’s a 50/50 chance that Glen Davis will suit up for opening day. If he isn’t 100%, I wouldn’t let him play. There’s no point having an injured Glen Davis. You might as well have Kendrick Perkins playing for you.
