DeAndre Jordan is one of the most efficient offensive players in the game. But we all know that there aren’t many 20 feet jumpshots in that overall field goal percentage in the ball park of 60%.
DeAndre Jordan is the last person you will see jacking up a three. Or any shot past a dunk or a layup right under the basket. But for some reason. Glen Davis wants the Clips to give DJ more chances.
“I thought DeAndre needed more attention because he’s a guy who dominates on both sides of the ball,” Davis said. “He doesn’t have no plays run for him, and he gets every rebound. How about we give him some confidence? Throw him a couple bones down there and see if he can get us a bucket. Yeah, he can’t shoot free throws, but hey, he’s getting people in the bonus. He’s making things happen out there. So you got to show him some love because he’s a vital player.”
Man I really think that Davis has a chance to get a coaching gig when he calls it a career!
Now I know when Davis means “throw him a couple of bones” he means give him an isolation play where he can throw a jump hook in there. But I’m not sure that the Clips even need it. Especially when the starting 5 is out there. They’re iso heavy as it is, do they really need another?
