There can’t be any worse time to get injured. Imagine that your Glen Davis, you’re a free agent. You’re looking to get on a team for training camp and work your way into a roster spot.
And then you have to have ankle surgery, not the best of times for it but if you need it, you need it. He will now be out for 2-3 months. After that, who knows.
Davis, who was having the surgery in North Carolina, had his ligaments repaired in the ankle and had a cyst and bone spurs removed, the official said.
Davis will be in a non-weight-bearing splint for a couple of weeks, then a walking cast and a boot a few weeks after that.
The official said several teams were interest in signing Davis, including the Clippers and Dallas Mavericks. The official also said Davis plans on being back in the NBA before the end of the 2015-16 season, and that he’ll be ready to play in December.
Hopefully a team will need Davis in the second half of the season. What’s lucky for Davis is that he can take his time and get 100% healthy, not thinking about the team and getting back as early as possible.
