
Gladys Knight will take the stage during the NFL’s biggest night.
Gladys Knight will sing the National Anthem during Super Bowl LIII, which is set to take place at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta on Sunday, February 3.
The Atlanta native and seven-time Grammy award-winning singer will join the esteemed list of musicians to sing the National Anthem during the Super Bowl, such as Whitney Houston, Aretha Franklin, and Beyonce.
According to the NFL, Knight shared in a statement,
“I am proud to use my voice to unite and represent our country in my hometown of Atlanta. The NFL recently announced their new social justice platform Inspire Change, and I am honored to be a part of its inaugural year.”
Maroon 5, Travis Scott, and Big Boi will be performing during the Super Bowl LIII’s halftime show, which has caused quite the controversy over the last few weeks.
The former Motown musician, also known as the “Empress of Soul,” is best known for her hits like “Midnight Train to Georgia” and “I Heard It Through the Grapevine.”
