The Giants had a busy start to their offseason. Today the Giants released veteran wide receiver Victor Cruz and running back Rashad Jennings. New York has made it be known via Mike Garafolo of NFL Network that tight end Larry Donnell will not be retained this offseason.
Giants settling all family business today. They will not be re-signing TE Larry Donnell. He’ll be a free agent.

The Giants still have Will Tye at tight end who will likely be the starter next season if New York doesn’t make any significant upgrades at the position. Donnell’s best year as a pro came in 2014 with 63 catches for 623 yards and six touchdowns. In my latest mock draft, I had the Giants selecting Miami tight end David Njoku.
According to Spotrac.com, the Giants have about $34 million in cap space to work with this offseason. New York also has impending free agents Jason Pierre-Paul and Jonathan Hankins that need to be re-signed.
