The New York Giants took Oklahoma wide receiver Sterling Shepard in the 2nd round of the 2016 NFL Draft. Following the conclusion of the Draft the Giants hope Shepard can turn into the perfect compliment to Odell Beckham. After rookie Mini-camp the Giants are even more impressed, particularly Odell Beckham himself.
“I just feel like I really know what he’s capable of,” Beckham raved this week, “and I’d rather let him just shock the world than spill his secrets. … He was definitely a steal, a guy that could have gone first round.”
With Cruz expected to be healthy it appears the Giants offense could be rather lethal. With the NFC East rather wide open it could in fact be the Giants that return to postseason play.
As for Shepard he is an undersized receiver who should work wonders in the slot and return game. Dwayne Harris of course did a great job in that department but Shepard’s presence makes this offense an interesting one to watch this season.
